Giambattista Valli

So remember when I said I loved all things bows and ruffles? Well Giambattista Valli is one of my favourite designers because he is ALL about bows, ruffles, feathers...and the list goes on!

Recently, Emma Stone made headlines when she wore a Giambattista Valli outfit to the premiere of Friends With Benefits. I absolutely adore the skirt!

By the way, I also love Salvatore Ferragamo. I know it can sometimes be a bit old lady but how can you go wrong when their classic symbol is a bow? 

Speaking of which, here's is what happened to me a couple of days ago. So my friends always call me very prude-like because I have a very preppy style. This was confirmed over the past week when I volunteered at Dress For Success, a non-profit that helps unemployed individuals dress to find employment. I pulled out a cute black top with small beige polka dots for our client and one of the other volunteers called it too old-lady. Sad face!! It was completely a top I would pick out for myself!!

Comfort vs. Fashion

There is always a huge trade-off between comfort and style. For a while! I have been debating if I should buy Birkenstocks but they were just too ugly. Recently however, I was able to find some new designs which allow me to have the best of both worlds!

I'm considering the first one but would love your opinion on which to get!

Other companies that are stepping up include Geox who have recently included some cute loafers in their lineup!

going crazy for selena gomez!

If you know me well, you will know that I am a secret teenybopper. I absolutely love Selena Gomez! I think that she is beautiful and that her style is awesome! She was recently spotted out and about in NYC :)

I love Sam Edelman shoes! Their style is feminine but with an edge, great for people like me who want that edgy look but aren't really edgy lol. The shoe that Selena is wearing is part of their new Fall collection. I also enjoy their new Noura heel.

As for the bag that Selena's wearing, it is a German luxury leather goods brand called MCM (Mode Creation Munich). The Heritage line is classic and their other collections are fun and edgy. A great accessory for a night out!

Me, being more of a prep, I enjoy their briefcases. Also blogging this for my friend Jenna, the future lawyer who will need a stylish briefcase for those tough days in court!

All three are part of MCM's Heritage Line. Can't wait to see they'll come up with next!

amazon.com just released a new website called MYHABIT.com. The concept is interesting. They offer up to 60% off of featured designers and boutique brands. These "events" expire after a couple of days. They were featuring shoes for $10!!!

I highly recommend you to check it out!

Also just a warning, when you click on clothes, the model actually comes to life! Definitely tripped me out when I first went on the site. Weird but cool!

My style is very flirty and feminine so a lot of my clothes are the black-grey-gold-nude-cream tone. Some of the items I am absolutely in love with include bows, sheer/layered pieces, flowers and ruffles...and I can't forget polka dots!!! Fall seems to be no exception!

Recently I discovered Jason Wu. His pieces are absolutely wonderful, including these black polka dot nude stockings that most of the model are wearing. They are to die for!

I am confused and am not sure what I want to do with my life. One of my options is to go back to school for Fashion. Just so happens that fashionista.com published a list of the Top 50 Fashion Schools in the World. Maybe I should take my pick from the list. Interestingly enough, Toronto actually made it on the map with Ryerson University being ranked 30 and George Brown College being ranked 37!

eat - shop - travel

I should really include play the title because that's one of the things I like to do most. I'm quite adventurous but I guess eat, shop & travel are bucketed into this general genre of play.

Summer in Toronto has been great to me so far. We've had great weather and I've had a chance to go to a couple of festivals including a food truck festival at the Distillery District. Although it was quite busy, I had a chance to try some good food. Best part is, they're having another one on August 20th featuring different vendors!
